Get Teased by the New “Interstellar” Trailer

Christopher Nolan, the writer and director of Memento, Inception, and the most recent Batman films, is taking up space on the big screen next year — literally. Nolan’s newest film, Interstellar, will be a space exploration adventure featuring Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, and Michael Caine (of course) and, based on this teaser trailer, maintains a reverent awareness of the iconic missions of the Space Age.

Sweet.

I haven’t found much about the storyline other than what’s stated on the IMDB page: “A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.” So there’s some sci-fi involved… hopefully it’s done intelligently and remembers what the most important aspect of sci-fi is; namely, how real people deal with unfamiliar and challenging situations. Special effects, although necessary, should be secondary.

As far as this trailer goes, consider me teased. I don’t even care if the Apollo and Shuttle scenes are in the final film — it’s just great to see them memorialized on screen! (Fanboy grin.)

Interstellar comes out in U.S. theaters November 2014. Visit the official site here.
